Bank of1889 issues MasterCard Check Cards to be used as both a debit card and ATM card.

With a debit card, you can conveniently and quickly purchase goods (in person, by phone, or online), pay for services (in person, by phone, or online), get cash from a merchant (if the merchant permits) or from a participating financial institution, and do anything else that can be done with a MasterCard credit card.

As an ATM card, you have access to thousands of ATM locations nationwide for no fees and many more worldwide a small transaction fee.

Shazam Brella*

Shazam Brella takes your security to a new level. Brella is an app downloadable in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store that helps you prevent debit card fraud.

By signing up for this FREE service, you will be able to:

  • View balance information attached to your debit card
  • Set up alerts for transactions exceeding certain dollar amounts, Internet or phone (card-not-present) transactions, and international transactions.
  • Temporarily block your debit card and all transactions via the app, and then unblock your card for use again. This is a great feature if you have misplaced your card and find it later. Via the app or website, you simply need to log in to your Brella service and select Card Actions > Transaction Control > Temporary Card Block.

Falcon Fraud Manager

Falcon Fraud Manager helps protect you from debit card fraud by monitoring your card for suspicious activity. If suspicious activity is detected on your debit card, you will be contacted to verify the transaction(s) in question. This is a measure we take to help insure your security.

If you receive a “fraud alert,” reply Yes or No to confirm or deny the activity. If you reply No (the activity is fraudulent), you’ll quickly receive a follow up text to let you know that a SHAZAM fraud specialist will call you soon to help protect your account.

We’ll also automatically block your debit card to prevent any additional fraudulent activity. If you reply Yes (the activity was legitimate), you can continue to use your debit card as normal.

If you don’t reply to the text, or your phone number is not a mobile number, we’ll attempt to reach you via automated voice call. Make sure to save these numbers to your contacts so you don’t miss any alerts:
