SMS Text Messaging Service
With Text/SMS Banking, you are able to use simple text message commands to:
- Check account balances
- Review recent account activity
- Find ATM and branch locations.
Text any of these commands below to 99588. (Note, Add Bank of 1889 SMS Service to your contact list for easy access.)
- BAL – Receive account balances.
- HIST + texting nickname – Returns the history for that account.
- ATM + Street or zip – Returns a list of the bank's ATM nearby.
- Branch + Street or zip – Returns a list of the bank's branches nearby.
- STOP – Cancels your subscription to our SMS Text Messaging Service.
Bank of 1889 Mobile App
Our mobile app is available for download in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store, for free.
Using our mobile app, you can:
- Check account balances on the fly without signing in using Instant Balance
- Review recent account activity
- Transfer money between accounts
- Pay bills
- Use Instant Balance to check balances without signing in (To set this feature up, log in to the Bank of 1889 app, tap on the "More" icon, tap "Instant Balance Settings", then toggle Instant Balance on and put a checkmark next to the accounts you want to be able to view. Hit save and you are done!)
- Change and cancel pending payments
- Find ATM and branch locations
- You can sign into the iPhone App using your fingerprint/facial recognition instead of your password. You can set this up under our app by logging in, tapping "More", then "Touch ID Settings" or "Face ID Settings" depending on your phone. Simply toggle Touch ID / Face ID on, then save, and you're done! Next time you sign in it will prompt you for your fingerprint instead of your password! Some android phones also have fingerprint capabilities and are turned on in the same fashion.
